i have a 03 dodge cummins 3500. it has been running fine and then all of a sudden now it wont start once u kill the engine... i know this is a nono but i sprayed a lil ether in filter and it fires right up and runs fine but every time u kill it it wont start back... it is showing a code P0251. please help..

Fuel Injection Pump Mechanical Failure Fuel Valve Feedback Circuit
You have something wrong with the fueling system and need to get it checked out.

ok well im going to get it to the shop on tues or wed but if u had to guess what do yall think the problem may be? or what part may be out?

Breaking down the error code it sounds like your CP3 went south.
I'd also look into replacing the lift pump as well, since there is a good chance the lift pump failed and caused the CP3 to fail as well.

i would check your rail pressure at cranking and see what it is. if its not above 6k then you have pressure issue could be injectors allowing to much fuel by or your fca. do a flow test to see if its the injector
I burn more diesel and run more miles in a week the most of you people do in a month. ctds that have been used 97 3500, 98.5 3500, 98.5 3500,01 3500, 03 3500. those that are being used 06 3500, 07 3500. and yea these trucks earn their living
