Read somewhere that Nissan may be trying to close a deal with Cummins to get the new 5.0L V8 Cummins originally intended for the RAM 1500 rerouted instead into the Nissan Titan for 2010-11 model trucks. Anyone else heard anything about this?

I've heard the same thing. Regarding Ford using Cummins engines in their light-duty trucks, I doubt it. Ford just released a clean-sheet, in-house design with the new 6.7 Scorpion V-8, and there are several F-150 prototypes running around with a 4.4L Land-Rover based turbodiesel V-8 that is just about ready to go. But from the sound of things, it's being shelved in favor of the EcoBoost V6, which is supposed to crank out 400 lb./ft., and deliver about 22 mpg.
