I have a friend with an '06 6.0. He has an AFE cold air intake, 4" exhaust, an SCT Excalibrator and recently added a turbo. He's getting 450hp on the dyno. 500hp will be pushing the limits of your lower end and tranny. I would go with the above setup, injectors, aftermarket intercooler, bigger turbo, aftermarket tranny. Suncoast and BTS are supposed to be very good, reliable aftermarket tranny's.

You need better tuning first of all....

The FIRST things I would do if you are shooting for 500 hp is get the heads decked, studs, and an egr delete.... Then you can get tuning, and maybe injectors and a turbo.

ya i gave up on 500hp going for 450 range. so ill start with an egr delete, tuner, maybe injectors, fuel system.

Do what Sleeper is recommending, plus add some gauges.

Mods without gauges it like running an engine without an oil change ..... you won't know its bad until you KNOW it's bad.

JasonJames, you didn't mention studs...

ALL, and I mean ALL of your modding will be in vain if you blow gaskets every time you get over 20 PSI.

Well if you are not the original owner of your truck you can have an oasis ran on it that will tell you the maintanence history.  See what's  been repaired and what it was taken in for.
After you do that it's up to you whether or not you decide to just go ahead and install headstuds.
What I have done with my truck (05 6.0) is:
1 Gauges
2 SCT custom tuned by gearhead automotive
3 4inch turbo back exhaust
My next steps will be headstuds and egr delete, then you can kinda put the power to it.  The stock bottom ends on the 6.0 are pretty stout 450-500 should be a non issue.  In my opinion I wouldn't do injectors until you have all of the above, but it is your truck and your money so do what you want.
