IDI folks,

i found "the mother lode" of factory Ford 7.3IDI TURBOS, quite by accident, this AM in a "scrap metal yard" in Northern VA.
(i was looking for something else for my '91 F-250.)

the (more than ten - i didn't count them) 1992-1994 "set-ups" were complete/working when removed(they came off of I-H & Ford school buses, that are being "cut up" for the scrap metals content.).

if anyone besides me wants a set, PM me & i'll tell you more. - i'll have to charge you the actual UPS shipping/packing fee, as i'm FAR from rich.

fyi, i briefly talked to "the boss" over there- the price per each will be 200.oo or LESS. the 200.oo will be the BEST-LOOKING ones. - all though, he said, work fine.

yours, PG

Just wondering what does "set-ups" mean? Do they come with with everything to convert non-turbo to turbo; or is it just a turbo?
I have a 1987 7.3 IdI and am curious how easy it would be to install or is it a straight conversion?

I am interested my email is motobiknfreek@yahoo.com

1992F250idi,

i can (i think) answer your query here - about a MAXIMUM of 200.oo delivered & perhaps as much as 25-30.oo LESS than that.

i'm just trying to get MY "set-up" as cheap as possible & help out other members, too.- i'd like to get the price down to 150.oo plus shipping.- don't know if that's possible or not, as NOT enough people have (so far) been interested.

to all,

fwiw, i HAVE in hand ONE copy of the Ford Factory Service Manual for the 1993 turbo-diesel IDI F-250 (i paid 25.oo plus S&H for that book.) & will share the relevant data, diagrams, parts list & pictures with purchasers. - so we can all do a "monkey see, monkey do" installation.
(i am NOT an expert on doing this sort of thing, but i can look at a set of pictures & figure out how to do it, when combined with the written instructions.)

yours, PG

to jjrky; all,

i've been SUDDENLY called out of state to deal with a "family emergency" - as soon as i get home i'll reply separately & HERE to what the final price is. - i'm hoping to be back home in a week or so.

to jjrky: MOST of the set-ups came off 1993 Ford/IH school buses, so you'll have a VERY SIMPLE install. - my install on my '91 may be a bit more, though NOT much, more complcated.

Damn I wish I could say I would take one. I intend to some day be running dual to triple turbos on my '88 7.3, but I'm nowhere close enough to that to commit now.
Good luck to all. It's nice to see guys team up to get that group discount!

My personal goals include developing perpetual motion and bringing power to the people. I’m also working on building a ’87 Ford F-250 7.3L IDI (Project 300) on a paycheck- to-paycheck budget. One day, I’d like it to be a renewable diesel-steam-hydraulic-compressed- air-wind-solar-infinitely-variable-transmission-equipped hybrid, but until then, I’m just happy to have a simple diesel-powered pickup.
