I hear people talking about 5.9 over 6.7. I want to buy a truck for hauling but I don't know which to get. Someone please give me advice!!!!

You can mod a 5.9 easier than a 6.7 because of the lack of emissions junk, however my 6.7 is noticeable stronger at pulling than my 5.9.

How much hauling do you plan on doing?

Also remember that a 5.9L will probably wear out injectors sooner.  May be only every 200K, but it will happen more than with the 6.7L.  The 5.9L engines have better transmissions though, the 68RFE's are kinda lame.

I have a 3 car top deck trailer. I just want to get the best truck to deal with this daily load. I live in Southern california so i will frequently have to go up a very steep/long grade called the Grapevine which leads to Northern Ca.

5.9 hands down and if you could get a 12 valve more props to ya. also if you get a 12 valve swap the old pump for a common rail deff. worth it for towing.....

i'd say the 6.7. drive one, its got some serious power. but get a 2012 or later, the 2011 had a few problems. i.e. urea pumps, urea heaters, ebp tube leaking, and on some occasions just a minor case of piston smashing valves ha! but all warranty repairs. enjoy!

Pereonaly I would get a 5.9L in the 04 to 07 range.  Then just do some upgrade to make it tow better.  The 5.9L will get better ecomomy the the 6.7L will..
