Hi im new to diesels and this site. this is my first post. I need a second opinion on the estimated horse power on my 24v. i recently bought a 2002 2500 6spd. I have slowly put in alot of aftermarket parts on a roughneck wage over the past year. There is not a dyno anywhere close to me. closest dyno is 650kilometers away. parts i have put in are the following...

14mm headstuds
aurora5000 turbo(35psi(capable of 70+))
wastegate
spearco intercooler
velocity pump. 200gph@18psi
Bigger fuel lines
125hp injectors
Southbend stage 2 clutch and some other clutch parts i forget what...
cammed
edge juicy
a cpl other minor upgrades i forget what but they would be residual.
My mechanic said its gotta be around a 1000 but i lost a race to a 600hp duramax. i do have the manual tranny so i should be able to over torque and over power it.is there anyone on here with similar truck with an acurate hp gurss

You're probably around the 500hp mark at best, that turbo must take a while to spool. You might actually gain a little horsepower going to a smaller turbo that isn't so hard to light.

IDK who your mechanic is, but he doesn't seem to be knowledgeable or is full of crap. The turbo is only capable of only around 50-55psi as a single. To get to 1,000hp, you're gonna need a lot more of both fuel and air. Probably a P-pump swap, 250hp injectors or bigger, compound turbos, maybe a little shot of giggle gas.

Nope, you're nowhere near 1000 bhp with an Edge Juice.  You need a proper programmer/tuner (Smarty SR, H&S Black Maxx, Smarty UDC, etc.) and the other upgrades Logan posted.

Also, that turbo is too big to be used as a single so your spool up will take a while.  Would make for a decent 1/4 truck, but not on the street.

Hard to say, somewhere between 400 and 600 probably.  A5K isn't a bad turbo as long as you can spin it a little.  Maybe an Adrenaline box?
